In the sanctioned battle circuit, Konig Wolves are rare and treasured. Often, these Konig Wolves are converted from old and dependable Command Wolves, and not found as surplus (Considering the value of the Konig Wolf in battle, 'surplus' is not common). The conversion is done at great expense, to both pilot and zoid. The pilot must go through the monetary stresses, and is often quite active in the conversion process. The zoid is heavily taxed mechanically and emotionally during the change, with new stresses on the chassis and new things to learn, a whole different body to become accustomed to. Not all zoids make it though.

Dontess is a shining example of the successes of the Konig conversion process. Not only was the overall performance greatly improved over the old Command Wolf chassis, but the zoid survived, and even improved mentally, retaining it's massive amount of battle data, and it's agreeable personality. Originally discovered by Michelle in an auction lot, the Command Wolf, named 'Groundchuck' after it's seemingly deplorable condition, was purchased and cleaned up by Michelle and then-boyfriend, Argos. It was soon discovered that it was not the wolf's mechanical condition that was the issue, but the zoid's personality. It was absolutely and utterly stubborn, disagreeable, and overall angry. A combined and concentrated effort on Michelle and Argos' part slowly broke the shell the Command Wolf had formed around it's self, and after a few strained months, Michelle was riding Groundchuck into battle. And, amazingly, winning. Michelle's tactical and piloting skill was considerable, but Groundchuck's massive backlog of battle data, decades worth of war and battle, allowed the Command Wolf to almost pilot it's self. With Groundchuck's ability to handle himself over cold storage, mostly out of spite from Argos.rough terrain and dodge incoming attacks, it allowed Michelle to concentrate more on tactics. An unbreakable bond of trust was formed between pilot and zoid, a bond that led to many a victory. With dozens of victories under their belt, the capital to preform the Konig conversion was quickly gained, and Groundchuck became the animal he deserved to be. No longer Groundchuck, but a name fit for a king. Dontess. With expanded carrying ability and speed modifications, Dontess became an all-around medium assault platform. His main weapons were interchangeable between a high powered long range beam sniper rifle, and an intimidating rotary assault minigun. Secondary weapons included grenade launchers, small caliber cannons, and rocket packs.

With the falling out between Michelle and Argos, Michelle was ejected from power, and the premises of the Dreadnought base, leaving Dontess in Argos hands. For now, Dontess lies in cold storage, mostly out of spite by Argos.
